   counselling, psychotherapy and personal development

I offer short-term and long-term counselling and psychotherapy, and solution-focused brief therapy for a wide range of general problems, and I have a special interest in stress related disorders, anxiety, depression, work related concerns, confidence, self-esteem, personal growth and the search for meaning and purpose.  I also have experience of and an interest in working with people who want to explore ways of coping with chronic illness and managing changes in life circumstances.

As well as providing counselling and therapy, I work with people who wish to focus purely on personal development, either on a regular or on a more ad hoc basis.  Some people find it helpful simply to have a reflective time and space where they can explore their thoughts and feelings, take stock and get to know their inner selves better.  Others like to focus on areas such as exploring spiritual issues, exploring creativity, increasing self-awareness, learning to relax, developing skills for coping with stress, enhancing job/career satisfaction, maintaining a healthy work/life balance and improving relationships.  For some this may be for professional support and development, for others it may be more for personal interest.

I welcome clients who are funding their own counselling/therapy or personal development, and I also welcome referrals from organisations who wish to fund an agreed number of sessions for a client, and other referrals.

My clients are very varied in their interests, backgrounds, and in what they are seeking from counselling/therapy and personal development, and my aim is to be versatile so that I can meet their specific needs and work at their preferred pace.
